Biographical Sketch: Bio Lisa Kynvi
Lisa Kynvi, MA, is the Coordinator of Complimentary Therapies at Merrimack Valley Hospice in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She holds master’s degrees in expressive therapies and mental health counseling, is board certified in music therapy, and licensed as a mental health counselor. For nine years she was an adjunct professor at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Lisa has a deep commitment to improving end of life and bereavement care for individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families. At Merrimack Valley, along with hospice work, Lisa is a member of the pediatric palliative care team, serving many children with a variety of special needs. Before coming to hospice, she worked for 15 years with individuals with intellectual disabilities. She is also a mother whose youngest son is 7 years old, nonverbal and blind, with a severe seizure disorder.
