Biographical Sketch:
I graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree in 1997 and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1998. After formal pharmacy education, I completed an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice (with an emphasis in ambulatory care) residency with VA Chicago Healthcare System in 1999. Following post-graduate residency training, I became a clinical pharmacy specialist with the VA Chicago Healthcare system and established clinical pharmacy services within their geriatrics clinic. In 2001, I became assistant professor of pharmacy practice at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy and was promoted to associate professor of pharmacy practice in 2007. During my faculty term at St. Louis College of Pharmacy, I also served as a clinical pharmacist in the Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC) and PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program Director at the St. Louis VA Medical Center, Jefferson Barracks division. I have received certification in geriatric pharmacy in 2001 and am a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist since 2004. I have given several presentations, published multiple journal articles, and served as editor/reviewer for several publications for a variety of professional pharmacy and geriatric organizations; and have been formally recognized for my work in the field of geriatric pharmacy. Since January 2009, as a clinical pharmacist for HospiScript, LLC, I collaborate with other hospice/palliative care healthcare professionals to provide optimal end-of-life care through drug therapy recommendations.
