Biographical Sketch: Annette Childs holds a Ph.D. in psychology and is the owner of One Candle, LLC, an education and consulting practice. She also maintains a private practice assisting individuals and families to grow through painful transitions. She has devoted much of her work to assisting the dying and their families to find peace and meaning at the end of life.
As a researcher she has extensively studied the near death experience and other mystical phenomenon, and has contributed original research to the field of near death studies.
She is the author of three books. Her first book, Will You Dance?, received critical acclaim and was the recipient of three national awards including, New Age Book of the Year, and the Benjamin Franklin Award. Will You Dance? has become a bestseller among titles on loss and transition. Her second book, Halfway Across the River, is a fascinating compilation of stories from her nearly twenty years of work with the dying. Her third book Lit from Within, was just released in 2010.
She is also the creator of the award winning audio CD set Living with Dying, which is a tool that has helped hundreds to gently navigate the experience of end of life.
She lives in the Western United States with her husband Brian and three children.
