Biographical Sketch: Jennifer G. Smith, MD is Chair of the Division of General Medicine & Primary Care at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Rush Medical College. She is board certified in internal medicine and in palliative & hospice medicine. She is certified in addiction medicine by the American Society of Addiction Medicine. She is a 2000 Fellow of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Developing Leadership in Reducing Substance Abuse Program. She received her doctorate in medicine from Brown University (1984) and trained in internal medicine at Harlem Hospital Center, Columbia University in New York City (1984-1987).
