Biographical Sketch:
Loni Ison is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and is a native San Diegan. She has been practicing psychotherapy for over 20 years. She is a clinical member with California Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (CAMFT) and American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). She currently provides supervision to the pre-licensed psychotherapists at The Center for Grief Care and Education at The Institute for Palliative Medicine and also supports the International Fellows program. She provides direct counseling support to community members and families of San Diego Hospice and the Institute for Palliative Medicine patients and their friends. Loni’s professional experiences include working with the Kumeyaay Tribal Community and San Diego Drug Court youth. She also has worked extensively with the County of San Diego Psychiatric Hospital. Loni’s areas of expertise include trauma and how a trauma impacts the body, mind and spirit.
