Biographical Sketch: Varun Mehta is a marketing liaison at Silverado Hospice in Sugar Land, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas with a B.S. in Psychology and Biology, with a Business minor. His marketing career began in college as he funded his own education. After college, Varun joined GlaxoSmithKline’s sales division, with a focus on chronic diseases. Having had dealt with hospice-like services due to family, this subject was one of familiarity. In 2009, Varun’s consciously began his hospice career with Vitas Hospice. To implement outreach programs and passionately grow awareness of hospice amongst the masses, he made a switch to Silverado Hospice. Currently, Varun is also leading efforts to reach out to South Asian communities as well as using social media to spread awareness of Hospice.
