Biographical Sketch: Suzi Johnson is Registered Nurse with more than 25 years experience in healthcare. She currently serves as the Vice President of Sharp HospiceCare, which is part of Sharp HealthCare, San Diego’s largest integrated health care delivery system and the 2007 Recipient Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award. Sharp HospiceCare was the recepient of the AHA Circle of Life Citation of Honor in 2010. Suzi’s responsibilities include strategic planning, business development, operational oversight of the hospice, two hospice homes, community outreach and philanthropy. Her extensive experience in leadership and her passion for excellence in end of life care has helped to make Sharp HospiceCare the first hospice in San Diego to offer a weekend long bereavement camp for children, the first to offer a Memory Bear Program, and the first to open two hospice homes specializing in end of life care. In addition, Suzi has been the visionary in developing a home based palliative care consultation program for advanced illness management of chronic diseases such as heart failure, COPD and dementia. Suzi is the President of the California Hospice and Palliative Care Association Board of Directors for 2011.
