Biographical Sketch:
Martha Tecca is a healthcare measurement and management strategist who has spent her career working with healthcare providers, industry associations, and vendors to help organizations demonstrate and improve quality and value. For the past ten years, Martha has focused on end-of-life care and its integration into the healthcare continuum. She is currently is Chief Strategy Office for Deyta, LLC. Deyta works with healthcare organizations to measurably improve quality of patient care and services, experience of customers and employees, and the effectiveness of operations. She founded Perforum, the hospice industry's only comprehensive benchmarking program, which became part of Outcome Concept Systems, Inc. (OCS), a provider of healthcare information solutions. She led the OCS hospice business for three years. She has designed and implemented benchmark databases and reporting systems across the hospice industry and is a recognized expert in QAPI program design and implementation and preparation for hospice public reporting. She worked with the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) to develop the NHPCO National Data Set and the Quality Partners initiative. She serves on the American Hospice Foundation technical expert panel in the development and demonstration of a hospice consumer report card. In 1990, Martha was Founding Partner of The Healthcare Management Council, Inc. (HMC), one of the healthcare industry's first benchmarking programs. She was active in HFMA, HIMSS and SHS as a member and presenter while at HMC. Early in her career, she worked with Bain & Company, a leading strategy consulting firm, and Genzyme Corporation, now a major biotechnology company. Martha is a frequent industry speaker, educator, and contributing writer. She holds an MBA from The Tuck School at Dartmouth College and a BA degree in Biology from Harvard University.
