Biographical Sketch:
Sandy Chen Stokes, RN, PHN, MSN, a Geriatric Nurse Specialist, is the Founder and Executive Director of the Chinese American Coalition for Compassionate Care. Sandy served as one of the national panel members during Hospice Foundation of America’s Living With Grief® Diversity and End-of-Life Care teleconference. She was a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s Access and Diversity Advisory Council and served on the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Sacramento Area Board of Directors. Sandy serves on Hospice of the Valley’s, (San Jose CA) Professional Advisory Board. She served as American Cancer Society California Chinese Unit President from 2000-2001. In 2009, Sandy was one of 14 national recipients to receive the American Cancer Society’s Lane Adams Quality of Life Award and in the fall of 2011, Sandy was among ten national honorees to receive the AARP Inspire Award. Currently, Sandy is working as a Geriatric Nurse for El Camino Hospital in Mt. View, California.
