Biographical Sketch: Monique Kuo, MD, is a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine. Following her residency in Internal Medicine at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose CA, Dr. Kuo completed a Hospice and Palliative Care fellowship at the Palo Alto Veterans Administration Hospice Care Center. She has worked in home and inpatient hospice as well as in sub acute and long term care. She is a medical director at Hospice of the Valley in San Jose CA and is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Care. Dr. Kuo has been an active member of the Chinese American Coalition for Compassionate Care (CACCC) since its inception in 2005. She is a past CACCC Board Member and is currently a member of the CACCC’s International Advisory Committee. Dr. Kuo has done numerous presentations on end-of-life care, pain and symptom management, advance directives, and other Hospice and Palliative Care related-topics to health care professionals and the community.
