Biographical Sketch: Maureen Horgan, LICSW, ACHP-SW is currently the Clinical Manager of the Pediatric Palliative Care Program, Stepping Stones at Providence Hospice of Seattle. Maureen developed and supervises Animal Assistance and Activity Services in the Providence Comfort Therapy Program. Maureen has worked for the last eleven years in a variety of medical settings including: pre-natal-maternal infant care, pediatric oncology, general in-patient pediatrics, grief counseling and for the last eight years as a pediatric hospice social worker and manager. Maureen has facilitated groups for grieving children and parents and has provided anticipatory grief counseling and bereavement counseling in the Safe Crossings Program at Providence. Maureen serves as a co-chair on the NHPCO, ChiPPS Communications Workgroup and is the lead for the newly developed Washington State Pediatric Palliative Care Coalition.
