Biographical Sketch: As HSCC's Grief Support Specialist and Cultural Liaison, since 2006 Silvia has provided culture and language liaison to Spanish-speaking patients and families of the Hospice and Transitions Programs, as well as culturally sensitive grief support to monolingual Spanish adults and children, in individual and group settings. As part of her outreach work, she provides bilingual community presentations on hospice services, grief support, and advance care planning. She hosts a bimonthly Latino Elder Care Forum and develops and delivers an electronic newsletter, networking and collaborating with local agencies serving the Latino community.
