Biographical Sketch:
For the last 15 years Natasha Beauchamp has worked as a Research Scientist on large, multi-media interventions for family caregivers which were funded by the National Institute on Aging. She became a hospice volunteer in 1997 and served for several years on the initial Board of Directors of the Lane County Oregon's end-of-life coalition: Partners to Improve End-of-Life Care. A technical consultant in the Rallying Points program, Natasha helped coalitions create websites, while also serving on the Western Region Rallying Points Advisory Council. She is currently a member of the NCHPP Section on Development and Marketing. Since 2001, through her company Elder Pages Online, Natasha has worked with hospices to create company websites, e-newsletters, Facebook, Twitter and blog sites to help elder care professionals connect with family caregivers, volunteers, and donors. As a result, she is very familiar with teaching health and social service professionals how to effectively utilize technology. Natasha Beauchamp received her Masters of Science in Health Promotion with a focus on using the Internet for community engagement. She has been a Principal Investigator and written numerous grants ($100,000 - $750,000) for award-winning Internet caregiver interventions funded by the National Institute on Aging. She has been published in scientific, peer-reviewed journals (e.g., the Gerontologist and the Journal of Behavioral Medicine). In addition, she has written articles to help hospices increase their Internet proficiency for professional journals such as NHPCO's Newsline. Other publications include a book chapter on the Internet, public policy and consumer choice in health care; as well as the Proceedings of the eHealth Institute Summit (since 2001). She is a frequent presenter concerning effective use of the Internet, including workshops at national conferences of NHPCO, the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers, the American Society on Aging, and the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging. She consistently receives excellent ratings from conference participants. Natasha brings a unique combination of Internet experience to her workshops, providing practical solutions based on scientific studies and extensive real-world experience concerning caregiver and community use of the World Wide Web.
