Biographical Sketch:
Experience: 30 years of perinatal bereavement experience. Co-author of recent publications on relationships in perinatal bereavement and respectful disposition after miscarriage. Co-author of When a Baby Dies: A Handbook for Healing and Helping, frequent presenter, co-founder of Resolve Through Sharing. Conducting current research on caregiver suffering and barriers to implementing and maintaining a perinatal bereavement program. Prior research: miscarriage, how mothers understand their infants, VLBW infants and their families, Guided Participation. Previous experience as postpartum/nursery/labor and delivery staff nurse; OB/Peds faculty at a college and university; psychotherapist specializing in mental health issues of childbearing women; program director for state perinatal association. Member of the International Work Group on Death, Dying, and Bereavement (IWG). Board and executive committee member of Pregnancy Loss and Infant Death Alliance (PLIDA). Reviewer for two journals. First author of Resolve Through Sharing Position Paper on Perinatal Palliative Care.
