Biographical Sketch: Bio Katrina L Walker LSW
Katrina L. Walker, LSW is the Outreach Coordinator to the African American Community for Hospice of the Valley. Katrina serves as Co-Chair for Humility of Mary Health Partner's Regional Diversity Steering Committee and Hospice of the Valley's Diversity Council. Katrina is certified by the Center for Multicultural Competence in Healthcare Organizations to conduct cultural competency assessments within the Humility of Mary Health Partners System and currently serves as a member of the Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services Assessment Team. Katrina's team has recently completed assessments of three Humility of Mary Health Partner hospitals. Katrina serves on the Language and Special Needs Committee within Humility of Mary Health Partners where she acts as an advocate to help eliminate barriers to healthcare. Katrina also provides staff training on issues of diversity, cultural competency, and team building for both Hospice of the Valley and Humility of Mary Health Partners. In addition, Katrina currently attends Youngstown State University as student in the Social Work Masters Program.
