Biographical Sketch: Cathy Emmett has worked for HPC Healthcare as their Nurse Consultant since May of 2006 and is a PhD Candidate in the School of Aging Studies at USF. Prior to that, Cathy worked for 4 ½ years at Senior Friendship Centers, Inc. as a Regional Director, and has worked in the field of Aging and Health Services for the past 25 years. As a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner, Cathy has experience in Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Hospice and the Community. She is a member of the Gerontological Society of America, the American Society on Aging and has served on the governing board of the Forum on Religion and Spirituality in Aging, a constituent group of ASA. She is also active in the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association, the National Hospice and Palliative Care Association and the local Florida Nurses Association.
Cathy received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree (Magna Cum Laude) from Duke University and her Masters in Gerontological Nursing (Highest Academic Achievement of Graduate Nursing Students) from the University of Florida. Cathy is proud to say that she is a Native Floridian.
