Biographical Sketch:
Heidi Barham, M. Div., is a Spiritual Care Coordinator with Hospice of the Western Reserve. Heidi provides spiritual care to patients and their families in alternative home settings including group homes, independent living, residential care and long-term care facilities. In addition to providing direct patient care, she also assists individual families as well as facilities with planning and officiating memorial services to help promote meaningful opportunities for closure at the end of life. She currently serves as the chair of the Agency’s African American Outreach Committee, which consists of representatives from within the Agency as well as numerous community agencies, organizations, municipalities and businesses. The Committee’s outreach and inreach efforts are designed to promote service excellence and increase access to care within a traditionally underrepresented segment of the population. Additionally, Heidi is a member of the Agency’s Transdisciplinary Practice and Standards Committee and previously served on the Cultural Diversity Committee. In addition to her position at Hospice of the Western Reserve, Heidi serves as an Associate Minister at Bethany Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), adjunct faculty at Indiana Wesleyan University, and a small group facilitator at Ashland Theological Seminary. Heidi completed the Sacred Art of Living and Dying National Education Program in April, 2010. She earned her Master of Divinity degree from Ashland Theological Seminary and her Bachelor and Master of Business Administration degrees from Cleveland State University. She also has a Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Myers University. Prior to joining Hospice of the Western Reserve, Heidi worked for twenty years in the financial services industry.
