Biographical Sketch: Ms. Jones has been active within the hospice movement for over 17 years. A multi-talented professional with over 20 years experience in private industry, Ms. Jones’ career transformation began in 1991 when she became a volunteer for VNA Hospice, Inc., and later for Gilchrist Hospice Care. Ms. Jones has been employed as a Bereavement Counselor for Gilchrist Hospice Care for over 14 years. As a founding employee, she was instrumental in developing the current bereavement program with a strong volunteer component at Gilchrist Hospice Care. Ms. Jones is a Nationally Certified Bereavement Facilitator, an experienced community educator and a frequent presenter at the local and national level and currently working towards a Certificate in Thanatology through the National Center for Death Education. In 2009 Ms. Jones accepted the position of Volunteer Services Manager for Gilchrist Hospice Care. Ms. Jones received the “You Make a Difference Award” from the Hospice and Palliative Network of Maryland in 2005.
