Biographical Sketch:
Michael is a co-funded pharmacist with Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region, serving the organization for over 3 years. His responsibilities include oversight of the organizational budget for pharmacy, infusions, chemotherapy, and radiation, and oversight of the hospice inpatient Pyxis station. He serves as a conduit between the hospice pharmacy provider (Hospice Pharmacia) and HPCCR coordinating clinical, financial, and service interactions. Additionally, his role includes attendance at weekly interdisciplinary hospice team meetings (IDT), serving to assist with recommendations on patient pharmacy management and serving as a resource to physicians and nursing staff. Michael graduated from Duquesne University from the Mylan School of Pharmacy (2002) and achieved a MBA from Pfeiffer University (2009). His professional role extends to community hospice/pharmacology education including presentations to HPCCR medical staff, local HPNA associations, nursing facility staff, hospital system case managers and local oncologists. Previous positions include retail pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacist in a Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) (4 years).
