Biographical Sketch: Michelle Gabriel graduated with an Master's of Science in nursing from the University of California San Francisco. Ms. Gabriel is currently a Systems Redesign Coordinator as well as working as a Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist for VA Palo Alto Health Care System. She also serves as the VA work group lead for the ELNEC-For Veterans project.
Prior to her current position, Ms. Gabriel was the Palliative Care Coordinator for the VA Sierra Pacific Network (VISN 21), covering VA facilities in Northern California, Northern Nevada and Hawaii. In that role, she offered leadership and administrative support for the palliative care programs in the region, coordinating efforts at the VISN level, conducting site visits, and offering educational conferences. She was the primary author of the chapter "Hydration, Thirst and Nutrition" in the 3rd edition of the Oxford Textbook of Palliative Nursing.
