Primary Presenter:
Gary Gardia, MEd, LCSW, CT
Area of Emphasis: Bereavement

2. List three common misconceptions about grief, loss and bereavement intervention
3. Describe methods for improving common practices such as support groups and risk assessment follow-up
How often do we say things that seem perfectly clear to us without realizing they may sound confusing to others, such as "There is no wrong way to grieve."? Are we all even using words like "grief and mourning" in the same way? This session will take a look at common bereavement practices such as risk assessments and support groups and explore ways to make what we all do...more effective.
