Chronic wounds and associated skin changes at the end of life are not always preventable.  Often, the demands of rigorous treatment may outweigh the potential benefits.  Palliative wound care incorporates goal setting, wound symptom management and patient and caregiver education. Maintaining the patient’s dignity and the highest quality of life is essential.  This session will discuss approaches to palliative wound care and various strategies in the management of complex chronic wounds and will review actual case studies.
