This workshop is designed to give participants a look into the world of twins and the twin relationship with a focus on twin bereavement. A factor in the sea of change organizations and professionals will be dealing with is twins. There has been more than a 50% increase in the rate of twin births in the last decade. An increasing number of practitioners who have never had training related to twins will be called upon to serve twins. Typically twins are grouped with traditional brothers and sisters. Most of the time there is no real awareness that a twin’s care needs may be different. This workshop will raise awareness about the unique aspects of the twin relationship, improve service delivery for this fast growing population and emphasize the importance of specialized training for professionals.
