Biographical Sketch: Andrea Allen, MD, is Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Arkansas Hospice, the largest hospice in Arkansas, with daily service to nearly 600 hospice and palliative care patients in over 30 Arkansas counties. She has been the physician leader in hospice and palliative care organizations for nearly thirty years, and she has served as a faculty educator for West Virginia UniversityÃÂÃÂs family medicine residency. She is a past president of the Maryland Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Allen is board certified in Family Medicine, Geriatrics and Hospice and Palliative Medicine and she leads a staff of 18 physicians and nurse practitioners for Arkansas Hospice. She has particular interests in ethics, professional education, complex patient management, and team processes.
