This session will introduce participants to the work of Global Partners in Care, an affiliate of the NHPCO, working to expand access to quality hospice and palliative care worldwide. The presentation will focus on the organization’s partnership program, educational offerings and other ways individuals and hospices can join the organization in their mission. Additionally, participants will hear about current partners and the benefits of the program, including the enhancement of staff morale and how participation expands community relationships and funding opportunities.

1. Identify the need for hospice and palliative care in developing countries
2. Describe how hospices in the US can partner with hospice and palliative care organizations in developing countries
3. Describe how you can help nurses and social workers provide effective palliative care to those with life-threatening illnesses in developing countries
