Hospice claims are now being analyzed and there are some troubling findings. Many patients don't receive a visit from a nurse or social worker in the last 48 hours of life, more than 700 hospices have not provided a single day of general inpatient care and some hospices have high live discharge rates. How does this apply to your hospice, and does Part D play a role? What does the data suggest, and what will it mean for future hospice regulatory changes? These questions and more will be discussed in this session.

Learning Objectives:
1. Identify three issues that were identified in the Abt analysis that could indicate deficiencies in patient care and quality
2. List four things that a hospice can do to check their hospice's compliance and make necessary adjustments in practice
3. List three reasons this analysis is important for the future of hospice and why professionals should pay close attention
