Biographical Sketch:
Kerrie received her BS in Nursing from James Madison University.She is certified in Hospice and Palliative Nursing and is a member of NHPCO as well as the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association. During her ten years as a nurse, Kerrie has left an indelible mark on hospice and acute care by bringing passion for patient focused care and a strong ability to develop those who care for patients. As result of seeing the patient and staff experience from acute, post acute and in home care settings, Kerrie has a unique ability to effectively coach in multiple venues. Kerrie is also a talented speaker whose charisma and charm envelopes her audience bringing them into the presentation. Kerrie’s extensive work experience has helped her to achieve results such as preparing a hospice CNA team for Certification (CHPNA) with 94% pass rate, implementing a 7day/week 365 day/year in house case management program including an ER Case Management program and implementing interdisciplinary rounds with 100% attendance by case management and all disciplines. Kerrie’s accomplishments also include increasing baccalaureate prepared RN staff by 100% and implementing Quarterly Physician Education sessions resulting in increased adherence to admission criteria, increased use of chest pain risk stratification and better quality physician documentation. She founded and led the Recovery Audit Contractor team for SouthCrest Hospital and successfully appealed hospice denials at the Administrative Law Judge Level achieving a 92% overturn rate in favor of the hospice. Kerrie's passion for excellent care is evident.
