Biographical Sketch:
Cindy Young, RN, BSN, MA is currently a Regional Director at LifePath Hospice,Inc., a subsidiary of HPC Healthcare, Inc. in Tampa, Florida. Cindy's responsibilities include all patient care and oversight of community programs related to the interdisciplinary groups in the region. Responsible for ensuring the professional practice and development of all disciplines in area of oversight in collaboration with Corporate Discipline Directors (CDD). Ensures education, staff development, competencies, performance improvement, compliance standards, policies & procedures, orientation and health and safety activities are in place for region of oversight in the program. Leads staff in planning, developing and implementing the region’s short and long term plans to support the Company’s strategic goals. Assures optimum utilization of resources and has ultimate budget responsibility and accountability for direct patient care provided by the patient care teams within region of oversight. Prior to being promoted to Regional Director, Cindy was the Manager - Continuous Care where she was responsible for reorganizing the continuous care department to meet the needs of patients. Went from 50 employee department to 120 employees. Instituted fixed scheduling, team approach and customer service oriented. Increased ADC and decreased agency utilization. Primary accomplishment was developing systems. Prior to taking on this role, Cindy was a Clinical Manager/Patient Care Nurse where her responsibilities included providing direct care and case management for 18-22 patients in a home based program. Beginning in April became Clinical manager of yellow team. Responsibilities included organizing, implementing and evaluating the care provided by team members. Accomplishments included stabilizing personnel on yellow team, increasing team moral, and effectively managing change. Prior to joining LifePath Hospice, Cindy held the position of Chief Executive Officer at PSI Behavioral Health Charlottesville and Staunton, VA (acquired by PsySolutions, Inc.). There her responsibilities includedproviding leadership and fiscal management to the facility. Accomplishments include successful JCAHO (no areas requiring improvement), and complete facility turnaround including financial. Beginning census 23, for the last two years 57.4 (capacity 60). Purchased property, renovated and opened 2nd facility spring 2005 current census 23 (capacity 42). Facilities provide a 28% profit margin. Have met and exceeded budget each year. Key factor was a 4% turnover rate. Chief Operating Officer of the Brown Schools South Florida. Responsibilities included providing clinical leadership to five programs. Position includes operational responsibilities.
