Biographical Sketch:
Dale is President & CEO of Covenant Hospice, which is authorized to serve 50 counties in northern Florida and southern Alabama, with an average daily census of over 1,300 patients. He is also co-General Manager of the Studer Covenant Alliance, LLC which provides leadership development and consulting services nationwide to orgainzations in post-acute care sectors, and is the CEO of Alzheimer's Family Services, Inc. a subsidiary of Covenant. He has been an Adjunct Professor of Health Care at the University of West Florida since 1993. Dale has been a healthcare administrator for over 38 years, 18 of which have been with the hospice movement. Prior to hospice, Dale held several leadership positions in healthcare, including Chief Administrator positions in 3 acute care hospitals, VP of a national ambulatory care services organization, and owner of his own healthcare and development company. He holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Hospital and Health Services Administration from The George Washington University, and a PhD in Health Care Administration. Dale is a member of several health care related organizations. He is a National Member of the Board of NHPCO and Chair of the NHPCO Ethics Committee, a member of the Board of Florida Hospices and Palliative Care Organization, and a member of the Board of the Alabama Hospice Organization. He was co-author of the NHPCO publication, "Vital Bonds," and most recently was a co-author of a three-volume text book series entitled, "Aging in America." During 2007, Dale was presented a Commendation Award by the Secretary of the Veterans Administration for his work as a national committee member for the VA, Hospice and Palliative Care Initiative, and was recently selected as Professional Leader of the Year by the City of Pensacola, Florida.
