Biographical Sketch: Barbara Ivanko joined Hospice of Palm Beach County in September 2007 after more than ten years of healthcare management experience. Mrs. Ivanko is responsible for ensuring excellence in all aspects of hospice services and operations.
Prior to joining Hospice of Palm Beach County, Barbara worked for seven years as a leader in the hospice industry; in senior management at hospices in Florida and New York City, as a consultant to hospices nationwide and as a hospice educator at the agency, state and national levels. She has authored chapters for several hospice and palliative care textbooks on the subjects of leadership and organizational strategy. She received her Master in Social Work degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Mrs. Ivanko has been an active member of the National Hospice Work Group's Chief Clinical Officer's Forum since 2000 and currently serves as Forum Chair for that group. She also serves on the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization's Education Committee and the Florida Hospices and Palliative Care organization's Best Practice Committee. She has spent considerable time collaborating with peers from the largest and most innovative hospices in the nation to explore ways to increase access to care and to develop strategies for excellence in the delivery of hospice services.
