Biographical Sketch: Cathy A. Stauffer is the President and CEO of Hospice of Lancaster County. She has more than 34 years of health care experience and joined Hospice of Lancaster County in October 2008. The last 18 years of her career has been devoted solely to hospice care, serving in senior management roles for both not-for-profit and for-profit regional hospice organizations. Cathy is the co-founder and past president of the Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation and is currently active with the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and the Pennsylvania Hospice Network (PHN).
Following completion of a graduate assistantship at Temple University in Philadelphia, Cathy earned a Master’s of Public Health degree. She has held executive directorship positions for not-for-profit agencies earlier in her career. During a period of consulting,
she published a book, Health Promotion for Older Adults: A Planning and Management Guide through the American Hospital Association in Chicago, Illinois and has other published works in the areas of aging, health prevention and hospice and bereavement services. Cathy also holds a Masters of Business Administration from Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington, Delaware.
