Biographical Sketch: I received my ADN from Central Florida Community College in 1992, and my AA for BSN in 1995. In 2003, I received BSN from University of South Florida and am currently enrolled at the University of South Florida in pursuit of MSN with a concentration in Oncology, expected graduation is summer 2012. I have hopes to fulfill ARNP role in Hospice and Palliative Care, but seek to have a role in oncology as well.
After spending 6 years working in acute care (Med/Surg and ICU) I made the move to hospice and have been working for Tidewell (formerly Hospice of South West Florida) since 1998, functioning in various roles since that time. I have worked on the PRN team where I was exposed to various settings such as long term care, admissions, and triage. My full time experience included hospice house, and home team case management, which included after hours triage. I am currently fulfilling the role as Clinical Director of the Sarasota Hospice House for Tidewell Hospice and have since January 2004. I manage day to day operation of the house and oversight for 24 staff members. My area of expertise is oversight of the day to day flow of the house, which includes regulatory compliance, financial/fiscal responsibility, quality improvement, patient care, staffing, medication management, staff oversight, physician collaboration, and service recovery to name a few.
