Biographical Sketch:
Marjorie Pullinger holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Hawaii, and has been a Registered Architect since 1991. Finding herself respecting the environment in her building execution, Marjorie obtained her LEED Accreditation in 2008. Marjorie’s career path provided her the opportunity to blend building design, the reality of construction and enhanced inhabitance through 20 years of commercial LEED certified developments during her various roles as Project Construction Manager. In 2009 Marjorie learned of the opportunity where her expertise could be used in her home town, with an agency that was giving back to the community. Marjorie joined Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois, (HPNI) where she acted as the Owner’s Representative for the construction of the LEED Silver certified inpatient unit and agency headquarters: Pepper Family Hospice Home and Center for Care. Marjorie holds a Senior Leadership role as the Director of Facilities at HPNI, where her day to day function require intimate knowledge of hospice care and the patient/family needs as they relate to the agency’s built environment. Knowing that a built environment enhances life, Marjorie believes that people and ideas make things happen, and her work at HPNI provides her the perfect blend of building logic, art appreciation, and community service. Marjorie has no commercial bias or conflict of interest.
