Biographical Sketch: Rod McFain is President and Chief Executive Officer at Hospice of Western Kentucky. Under Rod’s progressive leadership Hospice of Western Kentucky has revamped its management team, instituted “Choice Care” a care model based distinctively on patient and family needs with the purpose of improving patient care, had more admissions and served more patients in 2010 than in any other single year, improved patient satisfaction scores, seen increased cash reserves, and undertaken construction of the first free-standing inpatient unit in Western Kentucky.
Prior to Rod’s hospice career, he was President of McFain and Associates, a behavioral and market research firm based in Boise, Idaho. Rod served as a management, research, advertising, and media consultant on regional, national, and international projects. Serving as research director for highly confidential studies in a wide variety of fields including medical and high technology; Rod developed joint venture strategies, and prepared foreign market analysis.
Rod’s presentation experience includes not only hospice, but research presentations to a large number of clients including: The State of Idaho, Hewlett-Packard, H.J. Heinz Company, Welch’s, Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center, Idaho Power Company, The State of Montana. Results of Rod’s work on state and national political campaigns have been reported on CNN’s Crossfire and Capital Gang programs.
