Biographical Sketch: Mary Knecht, MSW, LCSW is Social Services Team Leader at Hospice By The Bay. She has held this position for the past 4 years and oversees the supervision and training of a three site department of over twenty social workers who in turn, service over 350 patients. Before attaining this position Mary served as a clinical social worker for eight years with Hospice By The Bay.
Prior to joining Hospice By The Bay, Mary worked at Marin Home Care (Care Manager), Kentfield Rehabilitation Hospital (Dir of Clinical Services) Mt. Zion Hospital (researcher for MSSP), and District V Community Mental Health in San Francisco (psychiatric SW).
Mary attained her LCSW in 1980. Since then, she has supervised and trained multiple generations of social workers towards their Masters degrees (University of California at Berkeley) and LCSW. Mary also has been a local trainer, offering agency presentations on a variety of clinical subjects: confidentiality, good boundaries, psychosocial assessment and interventions, emotional intelligence, communication skills, and other relevant clinical classes.
