Biographical Sketch: Meet Louis Benson, Ph.D., CPC
President and CEO, Treasure Coast Hospice
Healthcare Consultant, Speaker & Author.
For over twenty years Lou has been regarded as one of America’s finest keynote speakers and seminar leaders. Prior to joining Treasure Coast Hospice in early 2005, Lou was a health care consultant and professional speaker who worked with organizations experiencing rapid change and reorganization. He would address 80 to 120 different audiences each year.
He has been the featured keynote speaker for countless healthcare associations including the Nursing Management Congress and the American Hospice Association. Lou has addressed state and national hospice, home health, long-term care and hospital associations. He has consulted with hospice and other healthcare organizations across the country
Under Lou Benson’s leadership Treasure Coast Hospices changed dramatically. Since 2005 the average daily census went from 280 to over 550, admissions are up over 75%, and patient and family satisfaction scores are higher than ever.
Lou infused Treasure Coast Hospice with energy and encouraged innovation. No where was this more apparent than in the marketing area. Outreach to the African-American community resulted in a dramatic increase in their use of hospice services. He promoted a coordinated media campaign that made Treasure Coast Hospice a household word. He engaged long term care facilities and added value to TCH’s services which resulted in strong partnerships.
