Biographical Sketch:
Barbara H. Lebow, Esq. is the founder and principal of Lebow Law Firm in Atlanta, Georgia, where she focuses solely on healthcare clients. Starting her healthcare career in federal government, Barbara became General Counsel for healthcare systems, ultimately becoming General Counsel for Mercy Healthcare, one of the largest healthcare providers in the United States. Barbara’s clients have included physicians, hospices, nursing homes, assistive living facilities, ambulatory surgery centers, sleep diagnostic companies, hospitals, psychiatric inpatient and outpatient facilities, managed care organizations, durable medical equipment manufacturers, vendors and providers, medical research companies, FQHCs, SNFs and CORFs. Barbara has given numerous presentations, to national and state organizations, from one hour speeches to all day workshops, on health law to healthcare providers, payors, attorneys, and the general public. She has taught a Master’s level course on healthcare law at Mercer University and has written extensively on healthcare law, including for Managed Care Perspectives, published by Healthcare Financial Management Association. Barbara received her B.A. with honors from the University of Florida and her J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Barbara has taken post-J.D. classes in taxation from George Washington University Law School. Barbara is licensed as an attorney in Georgia and Florida, and in process of applying for licensure in Massachusetts. She is a member of the Georgia Bar Association, Florida Bar Association, American Health Lawyers Association, Health Care Compliance Association and the Georgia Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. She is licensed to practice law in the United States Court of Appeals, 5th and 11th Circuits and the United States Supreme Court.
