Biographical Sketch: Julie King is the Medical Group Practice Director at Midwest Palliative & Hospice CareCenter in Glenview, Illinois. She received her undergraduate degree in Community Health from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign (with honors), and is currently pursuing her MBA at the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. Serving as the Practice Manager in her current role, Julie helps ensure smooth daily operations for the agency’s Medical Group Practice. She also serves as a Director on the CareCenter’s executive management team and in that capacity participates in organizational strategic planning for both Hospice and Palliative Care.
Prior to joining the Midwest staff, Julie was at the NorthShore University Health System where she served as Senior Practice Manager for the Department of Neurology, as Director of Physician Support Services and as Senior Practice Manager at the Glenview Health Center/Buffalo Grove Health Center in primary care offices. In addition to her practice management roles, Julie has served as a hospital Administrator for the Solid Organ Transplant Department at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and held various management roles at Planned Parenthood Health Centers in two states. She also worked as a Medical Office Assistant for a Women’s Comprehensive Health Center and as a counselor at a site for the National Institute for People with Disabilities. Ms. King is also active in her community where she has served in leadership roles for the Northwest Suburban Chapter of the National Organization for Women. She has a strong background in developing systems, increasing efficiency and revenues, as well as improving patient, family and employee satisfaction.
