Biographical Sketch: Ann is the CEO of Hospice of Santa Cruz County and has held the position since 2003. Ann worked as an administrator of human service programs – mental health, health services, youth and adult counseling services and family services prior to her hospice service and after working in finance in the private and public sector for her early career. Since 2003, the HSCC average daily census has grown from 45 to 160 and HSCC now serves at 40% of all deaths in Santa Cruz County.
Ann has varied experiences as a community leader with school systems, housing and health initiatives in Santa Cruz County. Ann is a director on the board of the Santa Cruz Health Improvement Partnership, a strong community of health providers solving challenging health issues in a collaborative way. She has served on the California Hospice and Palliative Care Association as a director and as secretary. She currently serves on CHAPCA’s legislative committee.
In 2011, Ann completed the Metta Institute End of Life Practitioner Certification Program and has incorporated mindfulness practice at HSCC and in her daily life.
