Biographical Sketch:
Daneen’s career path has taken her from Patient Care to Learning and Development. Passionate about mentoring staff and educating patients and family members, Daneen’s combination of clinical and administrative experience in the specialized areas of oncology and hospice nursing has led her to become a well-known and respected nurse in her community. As HPNI’s Director of Hospice Home Clinical Care, Daneen was responsible for leading staff and coordinating patient care at its 16-bed Pepper Family Hospice Home and Care Center in Barrington and the seven-bed inpatient unit at the Woodstock Center for Care in Woodstock. Daneen recently received the William Rainey Harper College 2011 Distinguished Alumni Award, and is certified by the American Board of Nursing Specialist, Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation and the National Board of Hospice and Palliative Nurses. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Daneen is active on various community boards: Harper College Advisory Committee, providing support and direction to the College’s nursing and nursing assistant programs, Chicago End of Life Care Coalition – Northwest Suburban Chapter Lead, and The Renewal Center, a cancer survivor group. Daneen actively speaks in her community educating on hospice and palliative care. Daneen has no commercial bias or conflict of interest.
