Biographical Sketch: Stephen A. Leedy, MD FAAHPM is the Executive Vice President/Chief Medical Officer of Tidewell Hospice, a large not-for-profit hospice and health-care organization in Sarasota, Florida. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and serves as Chair of their Public Policy Committee. He is board-certified in Family Medicine with subspecialty certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Florida State University College of Medicine, Sarasota Regional Campus.
Dr. Leedy has had original research articles on end-of-life care published in the Journal of Palliative Medicine and he has presented at state, national, and international conferences.
Dr. Leedy earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio and completed a Family Medicine Residency at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Hospice and Palliative Care at Lancaster University in Lancaster, England.
