Biographical Sketch:
Bridget J Montana MSN,APRN,FPCN,MBA, is the Chief Operating Officer of Hospice of the Western Reserve ,Cleveland, Ohio. Bridget is responsible for daily operations, program development,and clinical practice for a 1650 ADC hospice. This includes a Palliative Care consultative team, Navigator team,Community Bereavement center anf facilities management(housekeeping, maintence, security,grounds and dietary)Bridget joined the organization in 1994 and has led the operations which experieced 8-10% growth for the majority of her tenure. Bridget is active on the state and national level. She is past president of Hospice and palliative Nursing Association (HPNA) and remains actively involved. Currently she is working on development of national standards for advanced practice nurses. Bridget is also past president of Ohio Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (OHPCO) and currently serves on the public policy and veternans partnershop committees. She is also active with NHPCO as past member of the Governance committee and currently serves on the Regulatory committee and chairs the CMS workgroup. Bridget is Fellow in hospice and palliative Care and a Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist. She has presented nationally for HPNA, NHPCO and the American society of Aging. She has published in several periodicals and coauthored a chapter in a text about care of the elderly at end of life. Bridget is passionate about Nursing, care of older adults and hospice and palliative care. She supports research to improve care at the bedside. She has served as a consultant to MedPac, the Alzheimer Association and the American Board of Nursing Services.
