Biographical Sketch: Susan Ware is the Vice President of Development for Hospice of the Bluegrass a position that she has held for 19 years. She has been in fundraising and non-profit management for 27 years specializing in annual giving and grassroots fund raising. Through her work at Hospice of the Bluegrass she has gained skills in major gift fundraising and capital campaigns as well as management. The Development Department’s work includes all fund raising activities, public relations and publications. In addition she oversees the libraries and all online strategies as well as branding. She serves on the Quality Committee, Ethics Committee and chairs the Online Task Force for HOB.
She is active in the community volunteering with many organizations including the Junior League of Lexington, Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal, God’s Pantry, Blue Grass Trust for Historic Preservation, the Diocese of Lexington, Association of Fund Raising Professionals, Transylvania University and Chi Omega Fraternity.
