Biographical Sketch: Janie has a bachelor degree in accounting from Brescia University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She has over 18 years experience in the health care/Non profit industry. By working diligently with her highly motivated and engaged staff, Janie was able to increase Hospice of Western Kentucky’s margin by 5% during her first year and another 11% by the end of her second year. Also in her second year with Hospice of Western Kentucky, she oversaw the construction of their new 15,000 square foot office building which was paid for and debt free at the end of construction. Janie was instrumental in writing the application, testifying on behalf of and ultimately obtaining a Certificate of Need for Hospice of Western Kentucky to serve two additional underserved counties in Kentucky. Through her leadership and sound financial management, cash reserves have increased substantially each year during her tenure. Hospice of Western Kentucky has been able to add additional patient care services that would not have otherwise been available due to cost savings and elimination of unnecessary waste. While maintaining this extremely efficient financial stewardship, Janie has twice served as Co-Interim CEO for Hospice of Western Kentucky. With her thorough understanding of both the revenue and expense side of Hospice, Janie has facilitated better insight between the finance and clinical departments, resulting in a higher level of appreciation of each other’s positions, needs and work and therefore better patient care.
