Moral distress occurs  when an individual identifies the ethically appropriate action but that action cannot be taken.  This session will delve into the issue of moral distress that many IDT members feel in the current health care system.  Evidenced based data will be reviewed as to the causes of moral distress in the palliative care/hospice IDT.  Additionally, the concept of moral courage will be defined.
