Biographical Sketch:
I joined NHPCO in September of 2013 as the senior vice president of strategic communications, leading a team of eight in NHPCO's media response strategy, member communications, public awareness efforts, marketing and graphic design for NHPCO and its affiliates. Prior to joining this organization, I served as evening news anchor and health reporter at WUSA9, the CBS affiliate in Washington, DC. I also spent many years as the health reporter and anchor at 6ABC in Philadelphia, PA. For nearly two decades, I focused primarily on medical journalism and the changing landscape of healthcare, with guest appearances on “Good Morning America, Weekend Edition” and “The Doctors”. One highlight of my years as a journalist was covering the medical relief mission on board the USNS Mercy hospital ship off the coast of Indonesia, following the devastating Indian Ocean tsunami in 2004. I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1992.
