Biographical Sketch: Bio Joyce A. Sutton, MS, M.Ed.
Joyce Sutton is the Curriculum Development & Training Specialist for the Training & Development Department at VITAS Healthcare Corporation, where she is primarily responsible for the management and leadership training for hospice managers. With 20 years experience in the hospice industry, Joyce began her work in education and training as an Instructional Designer at VITAS in Miami. She then went on to become the Professional Development Manager for Suncoast Hospice in Largo, Florida and the Education Manager for Genesys Hospice in Michigan. Joyce rejoined the staff at VITAS in 2002 as the Senior Clinical Systems Trainer, where she became part of the training and implementation team for the new electronic patient record system. In her current role, Joyce develops hospice training and development resources for clinical managers, patient care staff, patients and families. She is also responsible for the online Manager Training series, which provides managers with over 30 course offerings each quarter on hospice leadership and management issues.
