Biographical Sketch:
Tim Kirk is currently assistant professor of philosophy at the City University of New York-York College in New York, NY, USA, where he specializes in philosophy of nursing and healthcare ethics with an emphasis on hospice and palliative care. In addition to his appointment at CUNY, he consults on ethics and organizational development with hospice organizations across the United States. Dr. Kirk serves as chair of the NHPCO ethics advisory council and chair of the hospice and palliative care affinity group of the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities. Together with Bruce Jennings, he is editor of Hospice Ethics: Policy and Practice in Palliative Care (Oxford University Press, 2014). He lives in New York City with his dog, Lillie.
