This session will include a brief history of the LGBT movement and an examination of the unique needs of an aging LGBT population. Through the use of video interviews of the LGBT community, participants will discuss strategies for identifying and meeting the needs of LGBT patients and families.
Learning Objectives:
1. Educate caregivers on the unique needs and concerns of an aging LGBT population
2. Empower caregivers to educate other professionals on cited needs and concerns
3. Discuss the history of the LGBT movement and correct terminology to use with the LGBT population
