Pain management is a common topic of discussion in the IDT.  Social workers and chaplains often hear these discussions but may not know the basics of pain management and understand how it could impact their care of the hospice patient and family. This session will highlight some common pain management concepts and review the impact that various types of drugs can have on the patient’s pain and quality of life. Case studies will be used to allow professionals to better understand how they can participate in the development of the pain management care plan for the hospice patient.
